Jenny Goode, flutist
Jenny has a passion for music performance. She currently plays with DEF Flute Project and is Assistant District Staff Officer- Public Affairs MU in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Band and enjoys playing for military functions and events throughout the valley and nationally. She also plays professionally for church performances and other private events.
Jenny holds both a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Flute Performance for Northern Arizona University. Jenny studied at The Juilliard School in Manhattan, NY as a Pre-College student under the direction of Bonnie Lichter and Bradley Garner. Jenny also studied with Glenda Dove-Pelito at SUNY Geneseo in upstate NY.
While completing her Master's Degree in Flute Performance at NAU, Jenny played piccolo with the Flagstaff Symphony. Currently, Jenny plays with DEF Flute Project and is Principle Flutist of the US Coastguard Auxiliary Arizona Band. Jenny is also a Certified Arizona Elementary Education Teacher with General Music, Band and Orchestra teaching experience.
Jon Jeffery, drummer
Jon Jeffery has been teaching drum lessons at the studio since 2009. He began drumming in the 1980’s. He played with numerous working bands in the Arizona college music scene in the 1990’s. In addition, he played tenor drums with Northern Arizona University's drumline.
More recently, Jon is the snare drummer and section lead for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Arizona Band. He is qualified with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as an AUX MU I, the highest level qualification for a musician in the Coast Guard system. He has also played drums with the Mesa City Band, Fountain Hills Community Band and other groups for civic functions in recent years.
He is also an AZ certified teacher and holds a Master’s of Education from Northern Arizona University. Jon currently teaches photography/graphic arts at Mountain View High School in Mesa, AZ. He has also taught at the post-secondary level and was even a nationally certified snowboard instructor at one time.
Jon's diverse interests and experiences with drumming and as an educator give him a unique background to help students reach their goals. By taking lessons, students can develop the discipline necessary to become musicians who can read music, perform with others in various playing groups and enjoy making music.
